About the workshop

In an effort to protect the integrity, stability and reliability of the DNS and the Internet in general, LACTLD, LACNIC, ICANN, the Public Interest Registry and Internet Society will provide training for judges, prosecutors and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) from Latin American and Caribbean countries.

During the workshop, participants will work on the Internet's operation, the Domain Name System (DNS), the ecosystem's organizations and the different mechanisms that exist to know and contact those responsible for online content. All participants will also be provided with a space to network and exchange experiences and best practices.

Sobre el taller

Bajo el compromiso de velar por la integridad, estabilidad y confiabilidad, tanto del Sistema de Nombres de Dominio (DNS) como de Internet en general, LACTLD, LACNIC, ICANN, el Public Interest Registry e Internet Society desarrollarán una capacitación para Jueces, Fiscales y Agencias del Orden de países de América Latina y el Caribe. 

Durante el Taller, se trabajará sobre la operación de Internet, el Sistema de Nombres de Dominio (DNS), las organizaciones del ecosistema y las diferentes mecanismos que existen para conocer y contactar a los responsables del contenido en línea. Se proporcionará también a todos los participantes un espacio para establecer redes e intercambiar experiencias y mejores prácticas.

This activity is organized by LACTLDICANNLACNIC, the Public Interest Registry and Internet Society.

Participants

Judges, prosecutors and law enforcement officers (LEAs) from Latin America and the Caribbean will be invited to the Workshop.

In addition, domain name managers, platforms, marketplaces, Internet organizations and brand representatives operating in the region will be attending the event.

Date and place

The annual meeting of INTERPOL Americas Working Group on Cybercrime will be held on August 26-30, 2024.

In the framework of this event, on August 27 and 28, the Technical Community organizations will host the agenda of sessions of the Workshop for an Open, Secure and Trustworthy Internet.
